Dear Taylor Momsen,

Let’s be honest here - I didn’t want to like your song. Your style isn’t conducive to my vibe of music. But you’ve got a pretty decent singing voice and this song has a damn catchy chorus. I’m casting my judgement aside because you deserve it….except for that whole black eyeshadow thing.

Last.fm pits her with her Gossip Girl co-stars, Leighton Meester and the no-longer-fictional band Lincoln Hawk but I don’t think that’s quite right. Heavy on the electric guitar (which really guides the song) and drums, Momsen’s musical and fashion style are definitely reminiscent of the grunge era (i.e. Courtney Love).

The Pretty Reckless’ album, “Light Me Up” is due out August 31st, following an EP that was released in mid-June. While most people hail “Make Me Wanna Die” as the song to listen to, I absolutely disagree. “My Medicine”, “Zombie” and “Blender” are superior.

Agree.  Don’t let the person’s personal life or other career moves, jobs, etc taint the way you hear their music.
